I found that it’s easier said that done because of the hundreds if not thousands of hosting services to choose from, making the decision nearly impossible.

Referrals.

Now, what is the most obvious reason for choosing a service over another? I do believe that is referrals. It doesn’t matter if the service was referred to you by a friend, or by an Internet ad, or even by a flyer found on a buss bench. But it takes more than just referrals to be set on a specific service, right?

Reviews.

You also need reviews on that service. Say your best friend told you about the service that he uses, you’d go over to the website and check out their offers but you would still need another opinion on that hosting service… just to make sure.

These reviews are not that hard to come by. I found this website that actually makes yearly tops of webhosting companies based on the specific hosting options of everyone of them. For example, a hosting company offers windows based hosting while another offers Linux based hosting services. You can see why they can’t be compared. Or one offers PHP support while another offers ASP support.
