How time flies…
20 years ago, amazing technological advances in the field of storage media were being made. Of course, the main media for data storage was magnetic tape and discs, solid state not being used on account of the size a board would have due to the numbers of RC or RLC circuits it would contain.
Nowadays, some of those technologies were abandoned, magnetic tape, others were improved, magnetic discs.
Due to the miniaturization of electronic components, the trend of storage media is toward solid-state drives that are faster and more shock resistant.
A bit slower but big enough, the flash drives are in all our pockets, phones, digital cameras and other gadgets.
Look at a photo that literally is a thousand words. Imagine yourself with your 1GB SD memory card and then imagine yourself 20 years ago, assuming you’re old enough
, carrying around a storage device with the same amount of storage space, 1GB.
